In Quarantine most of us had plenty of free time to do think some interesting ideas that we can do during the quarantine, some of the were bad and some of them were good, but there was a lot of weird ideas too at the same time. Sonya Karimi from New Orleans came up with a genius idea on how she could help her elderly dogs climb the stairs easier, so the woman decided to build her rescue doggies a mini wooden stairlift that she called the Doggie-vator.
The owner came up with the idea a few months ago, after she adopted one of the dogs named Bodhi who had a torn knee ligament. Sonya is an occupational therapist, so you can easy know how she came up with this idea.
“At work, I’ve seen how helpful stairlifts are to people so I was surprised there wasn’t anything similar for dogs with all the different products that are available for pets nowadays. So I thought that we might be able to create something ourselves for our dogs to use” Sonya told Daily Mail.
“They’ve adapted to it so quickly, I thought I’d have to train them for a while to get used to it but they just get on it as if they’ve had it for years! The two older pugs love it especially – they won’t use the stairs, they will sit there and wait until the ride is ready for them and it’s so cute,” the owner told Daily Mail.
Finally, when the cart stops, the dog steps out of the box on to an easily accessible ramp.
