People can be really cruel, especially on how they treat animals. Their cruelty is unforgivable, for whatever reason.
One of the worst things that men can do to animals is chain them up to a place and abandon them, without even providing food or water for them. By doing so you are basically killing them, making them suffer a slow, painful death. It is even worse if you abandon newborns, like in this case.
This story took place in County Roscommon in Ireland. While walking around, a person was frustrated when he saw a young mother chained up to a fence while feeding her 6 newborn puppies. The dog was helpless and abandoned, and still was trying her best to take care of her puppies.
The person who found them immediately called the police and the ISPCA. They took the weak animals and gave them all the necessary medical treatment. Luckily, despite for being hungry and cold, the animals were in good health conditions.
When the ISPCA posted pictures of the rescued animals and shared their story on Facebook, everyone was shocked.
“This has to be the saddest picture I have ever seen,” one person said. “[And] that is saying a lot with so much cruelty around us.”
“Look at the fear and vulnerability in the poor dogs eyes,” another commented. “Darling animal. Am crying seeing this.”
On the Facebook post, ISPCA also said that they had named the mother dog Emmy Lou and her puppies Dotty, Patsy, Dixie, Billy Ray, June and Dolly.
They even thanked the person who found them and didn’t hesitate to call for help, saving the dogs’ lives.
“To the kind-hearted animal lover who discovered them and alerted the Gardai and the ISPCA, we are so grateful,” they wrote. “We can’t help them without you so please continue to report cruelty, neglect or abuse.”
Hugh O’Tool, ISPCA Center Manager, was also shocked by this event and said that their lives were quite in danger.
“Leaving a young dog only two years old tied up without water, food or shelter most definitely put her along with her young puppies’ lives at risk,” he said. “I don’t understand how anyone can think it is okay to leave a dog tied to a gate to nurse her puppies.”
“With the recent level of rainfall and cold weather this week, the outcome could have been very different and I’m happy we were alerted so we could help them.”
It’s such a relief that they are all safe and sound now. Unfortunately the person who has done this to them is still out there, so ISPCA is determined to find this person and make him/her face what he/she has done. Anyone who has the slightest information is encouraged to speak up and help find this cruel person.
